Most probably the power point presentation file should open if you are using the office 2010 beta. Try to open the file using the menu open this should help you to open the ppt file no matter if it is being created in the office 2003. Since all the files which are made with the previous version works with the latest version.

It appears as your file is corrupted and hence you cannot open the file in the office 2010 program. i would advise you to open this file in the office 2003 program only since this will atleast open the file . If you cannot then try to get a converter which will convert the file in an an office 2010 file.

If you are not able to open file then either the file is corrupted or you are not opening the file correctly. Any file made using the earlier version of the office will always remain compatible with the newer version. That means you can open a powerpoint 2003 file in powerpoint 2010 application. If you cannot then try to copy the content in a new powerpoint application.

i had faced the similar problem with my system but finally after trying a lot of stuffs and all i got the fix. i opened the file made using the powerpoint 2003 in the powerpoint 2010 by simply disabling one of the add-ons from my new office 2010 beta application. If nothing has worked for you then try this , it might work.
