| Outlook losing Mapped Drives
Hello!
I am using windows vista ultimate...all up to date.
I have all my outlook PST archives stored on a windows 2003 server, with a unique user ID and password. I recently added a new user to the server when all this started happening.
I have the server mapped to drive Z:...then I add the PST archives into my main user idenity, with their locations on the mapped Z: As of late, sometimes i lose connection to the server, and the mapped drive is lost (usually during a offline file sync) after vista finishes whatever it is doing that makes the drive come back it is there again (credentials are stored on the machine). This usually happens around 2 or 3am so I don't even noticed the "downtime"
The problem is, when i go back into outlook, it can't find the PST files, even though they are in the same location, on the same mapped drives. Even if you goto properties you see the path Z:\whatever\whatever\whatever.pst and you can copy and paste this path into explorer and it goes to the file, but outlook still says "PST FILE NOT FOUND"
Any idea as to why this is happening/how to fix it. The only thing I can think of, that I Don't want to do, is to store the files locally, because every once and awhile i update the archived PSTs, so i would rather not have the hassle of having to manage 2 copies of the file (I already have the one on the server on a redundant automatic backup) It never happened until I added this new user for a new computer i have connected to my server. I don't see how it would have anything to do with it.
Thanks in Advance
