Re: How to Resolve Startup Problems in Microsoft Excel?

It is important to keep track of equipment or software updates that you performed just before the onset of the problem because they may be directly involved. When you start Microsoft Excel, you may experience problems for any of the following reasons :
  1. Corrupted shortcut to the Excel program
  2. Problem file in the Startup folder or Excel file location different startup
  3. Conflict with another program
  4. Wrong version of a Microsoft Office main
  5. File Toolbar Excel (*. XLB) or Excel file. Pip damaged
  6. Complements damaged in the Tools menu
  7. Corruption in the registry keys

Re: How to Resolve Startup Problems in Microsoft Excel?

If the problem occurs only when you start Excel, follow these steps :
  1. Click Start, point to Find, then click Files and folders.
  2. In the Search for files or folders named, type Excel.exe.
  3. In the Look In list, click My Computer, then click Find Now.
  4. After finding the file Excel.exe, double-click it to start Microsoft Excel.
The default location of Excel.exe depends on the version you have installed. If you are using the Microsoft Office Excel 2003, then default path would be :
C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft Office \ Office11
If you are using the Microsoft Office Excel 2007, then default path would be :
C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft Office \ Office12

Re: How to Resolve Startup Problems in Microsoft Excel?

If Excel starts as expected, the problem may be a corrupted shortcut to the program. To solve it, create a new shortcut to the Excel program and use it to start Excel. If you are not on the computer where the problem occurs, you can automatically record the resolution on a flash drive or CD-ROM and then execute on the computer being the problem. You can also use the Microsoft Fix it for fixing the error.

You can follow the steps that may solve an issue that you are facing :
  1. Click Start, then Run.
  2. Click on Browse, then locate the folder where Microsoft Excel is installed, as indicated earlier in this article.
  3. After finding the file Excel.exe, click to select it and click Open.
  4. At the end of the path indicated in the Open box, type a space and then type / s so that the whole line looks like this :
    • "C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft Office \ Office \ Excel.exe" / s

Re: How to Resolve Startup Problems in Microsoft Excel?

If Excel does not start when you use the / s switch and if Windows is running in safe mode, remove Microsoft Office (or stand-alone program Microsoft Excel) using the Add / Remove Programs in Control Panel. This procedure may be necessary because when you run Windows and Excel in Safe Mode, Excel works in the simplest mode required to start the program. This means that no other program or file is involved in the process of starting Excel. The problem can come from a corrupt Office file that is used to start Excel. If you remove and reinstall Office (or stand-alone program Excel), it should solve the problem.
