Re: How to use the Histogram add-in Excel?

Before using the Histogram tool, you must ensure that the Analysis ToolPak is installed. To verify the Analysis ToolPak is installed, follow these steps :
  1. In Microsoft Office Excel 2003 and in earlier versions of Excel, click Add-Ins on the Tools menu. In Microsoft Office Excel 2007, follow these steps:
    • Click the Microsoft Office Button, click Excel Options.
    • Click on the supplements category.
    • In the Manage list, select Excel Add-ins, then click Search.
  2. In Ins dialog box, make sure the box next to Analysis ToolPak is selected on supplements available. Click OK.

I would like to discuss about the Analysis ToolPak in details. For the utility analysis appears in the Add-Ins dialog box, it must be installed on your computer. If you do not see the utility in the analysis Ins dialog box, run the installation program for Microsoft Excel and add this component to the list of installed components. Hope that you got the point that I was trying to explain you.!!

Re: How to use the Histogram add-in Excel?

Excel counts the number of data points in each bin of data. A data point is included in a bin specific data if the number exceeds the lower limit and less than or equal to the upper limit of the bin data. In the above example given by the 'HellBoy21' the bin corresponding to data values from 0 to 20 contains two data points, 3 and 20. If you omit the bin range, Excel creates a set of evenly distributed bins between the minimum and maximum data.

Re: How to use the Histogram add-in Excel?

You will not be able to create the Histogram chart if you specify options to create the table histogram in the same workbook as your data. Data Analysis tools such as ANOVA, Fourier Analysis, Histogram, and ttest, operate by using data from a single worksheet. You can send the resulting data to a worksheet range, new worksheet, or new workbook. If you choose to send the new data to a new worksheet and you are in group edit mode, new blank worksheets will be created equal to the number of grouped sheets.
