Delete/Repair the Windows Media Player Library

Hello, I am having Windows xp operating system installed on my computer and while making use of it, I am not able to Delete/Repair the Windows Media Player Library. I have tried lots of solution and now want to know some solution from which I can able to achieve the solution for it. If you are having any definite solution from which I can able to Delete/Repair the Windows Media Player Library from my computer which is having Windows xp operating system.

Hello, if you want to delete the current library then you need to follow the steps below:
  • It is necessary that you Windows Media Player is not running, so if it is running then simply close it.
  • Move to the path below:
    Quote:
    \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Index
  • From here it is necessary to remove the file "wmplibrary....db".
  • Now start your Windows Media Player.
  • Now press the "F3" button and then you will able to provide the location where you want to move your music.
  • Done.

Hey, if you want to Delete the Windows Media Player Library then it is necessary to delete the folder from following path:

C:\Documents and Settings\{your user}\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player
It will simply remove all of the content of the media library.

Follow the steps below:
  • First thing you need to perform is that you must need to stop all of the running processes related to the Windows media player.
  • Now you need to open the path below:

    %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player\

  • This folder may contain many files.
  • You can either remove all of the files by deleting them or you can simply delete all of the files.
  • Problem solved.

If you want to delete the Windows Media Player Library then you need to use the steps below:
  • Open the Windows Media Player from your computer.
  • Here you need to click on the "Library" tab.
  • Here in the left side you need to select the "Songs."
  • At the top of the screen Click on "Details" under View Options.
  • Here you need to select the all of the songs.
  • Just right click on it and select on the delete.
  • Then click on OK in your confirmation box.
  • Then again click on Ok and you will able to remove all of the songs from your WMP Library.
