Configuring a Video Camera for types of image format

    Hi,
I want to shoot some videos by using my digital camera. I need some tips on the different types of image formats that are used widely. Like I had an clips of regular TV screen output which becomes blurry when played on a projector in large size. How to get an optimum ration which can help out to adjust the image format properly on every type of screen.

If you plan to make a movie then you have to determine the ration of the imaeg output as per the display. The film uses the large format. Today the most common of these formats is the number of 1.85:1 (wide-screen said). There is also a wider format, the Scope (2.35:1) and reduced the 1.65:1 format, mainly used for animation. This ratio can be achieved by various video editing software.

For a output of a TV set the classic format of the TV is 4:3. The modern televisions have now increasingly the deep format the 16:9 (Wide Screen or TV) which is closer to the movie format. The 16:9 is also offered as an option on some digital camcorders. In broadcast compatibility 4:3 and 16:9 poses practical problems for the insertion of the logo for example or for the placement of subtitles.

The most common type of among them is a video disc. The VideoCD uses several standard formats used VCD, SVCD, XVCD, etc. For this format there is a difference between the size of the images stored on disc and broadcast format which is always that of television (4:3). This distortion is called anamorphic. This can be easily applied by using Nero or any other video burning tool.

Framing Pan & Scan, widely used simply crop the original 1.85:1 to 4:3 by simple division. This technique has the great flaws reduce the horizontal field of view and to disappear amount of detail on the sides. The Pan & Scan cropping must be done by an operator who will choose the important part of the picture in every scene of the film. Quicktime is an appropriate for this.

For getting a proper image size cropping can be a nice option. To permit the broadcast of a video from one format to another format like for e.g from movie film for television, it is necessary first to adapt it by cropping. There are several techniques to perform the operation. None is free from defects, it is always about compromise. But that can reduce your size and quality.
