smile Win XP locked user account OWNER

Greetings everyone. A friend asked me to help him recover from the blue screen of death on his Gateway computer. I tried for two hours to break in using 1)Try last known config that worked 2)safe mode 3)Boot on CD and run fixboot.

Nothing I know would allow me to get past the blue sceen. (Yep, I've forgotten the STOP error code...)

Hestitantly, I pressed F11 on boot and his recovery partition booted. I was given three options.
1.) Nondestuctive, reinstall XP and keep all data. This would not work because the service pack on the C: drive was newer then the one on the 2005 recovery partition
2.) Destructive - Blow away the drive and start over. I did not do this.
3.) Non-destructive - Place all data and users in a folder named MyBackup and reinstall WIN XP as a new install. I chose this option.

The program ran, backing up data into a desktop folder named MyBackup and Windows booted normally as Administrator

The problem now is that my friend's username was OWNER and it is greyed out in Windows Explorer and is inaccessible.

Going to control panel, I try to create a user OWNER, but the system says it already exists. But, in Control Panel User program, OWNER does not exist.

I'm locked out. How do I tell Windows XP that to create a user acct. so I can access OWNER and all my friends data?

Any help at all would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Win XP locked user account OWNER

For solving your problem you can use "windows Key" software utility it creates a password reset CD or USB Flash Drive that work during the boot process and instantly reset Administrator or other account passwords and Windows security settings that prevent you from logging in. You can download the demo version from its official site but it comes with certain limitation .

You need to use NETLOGON debug logging. It Enabling debug logging for the Net Logon service
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Pa rameters\DBFlag
DBFlag = 0x2080FFFF (in: %windir%\debug\netlogon.log)
