    Resizing the layer in Photoshop

    Hello all,

I am trying to resize only one layer of a PSD file. The layer has an image with a transparent background which I need to resize to fit in a specified glass. The image was dragged from another file and taking the entire canvas area, when the glass I want it to fill only takes up 1/4 of the canvas.

How do I shrink the image down to the size where it will fit in the glass.

    Resizing the layer in Photoshop

If you are working on the adobe photoshop and getting such type of problem regrading management of layers then you need use the guidelines which can help you to find your way.

Ctrl+T key for Transformation is part of the answer. First move to the Navigator tool and decrease the overall image so that you can have some space around it.

Now press Ctrl+T button which will give you the handles to "pull" the image in. There is another method which is added with that, just hold down the Shift key while dragging the corner in the imageproportions will stay the same.

1- Start Adobe Photoshop application. From Open menu, open the existing image from the disk onto the workspace.

2- Select the current layer, "Background," By clicking with the mouse in the Layers palette it would be selected and looks like dark gray shade in the palette.

3- Hold down your mouse button upon the layer and drag it to the bottom of the Layers palette to the new layer button. The new layer button is the picture of a piece of paper with the corner folded up.

4- Now just Release the mouse button.
