After update safari doesn't opens

After updating Safari 4.0.2 to 4.0.4 Safari no longer opens. I uninstalled safari AppCleaner then I went to load Safari 4.0.3 on the apple site, I reinstalled and then I'm facing the same problem. I uninstalled again and reinstalled 4.0.2 from time machine and it is working again. Is there a solution to run 4.0.4.? or should it wait for another update?. I have a Macbook pro new with 2 graphics cards and under leopard.

Go read the Console ? There are a variety of causes for an inability to launch Safari, including:

• a corrupt general .plist file (delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
• corrupt caches (delete the contents of ~/Library/Caches/Safari
• problematic plug-ins (look in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins and ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins

No better solution than reinstall.

In a browser working, download the new Safari and download Pacifist. Mount the Safari .Dmg and install Pacifist. In Pacifist, navigate to the installer .Pkg file for Safari. Go ahead and install it with pacifist. Once installed, it should update all the necessary frameworks. Once done, open Safari. If this does not and even if so, go ahead and restart. After reboot, run softwareupdate. All your other applications should work as expected.

Repair your permissions with disk utility and see if that fixes the problem. If not, try updating your prebindings and realligning your libraries. To do this:

• Open a terminal session (In your Utilities folder)
• sudo -s (type in your password when prompted)
• update_prebinding -root /

Restart the machine when it's finished.
