    svchost.exe -k netsvcs

Hello I have a problem with the pc, I spent 1 hour on the search of the forum and I found nothing.

This is as indicated in the title of a svchost.exe present in the taskmanager is using all the resources of the pc, if we stop that it goes on again after some time. Does anyone has a clear explanation on what is happening and how to ensure that the PC is running normally?

    In advance thank you.

I found the following details on the file you mentioned:

    • File name: svchost.exe -k netsvcs
    • Program name: pnpsvc
    • Description: Added by Troj/StartPa-FP as a new service, using "Plug and Play svc service" as a displayname.

Services under svchost are visible in the registry:

    Start> Run> regedit> ok

    HKLM\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Svchost

    To view logs:
    Start-> Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Event Viewer

View applications and systems. Double clicking on an error, open the properties and often gives very valuable sugesstions.

this is what I am using the svchost:

    • DcomLaunch
    • HTTPFilter
    • imgsvc
    • LocalService
    • netsvcs
    • NetworkService
    • rpcss
    • termsvcs

Here I would like to know if I find something fishy about these services.

    1. Download this file combofix.exe
    2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts, but select NO when asked to install the recovery console.
    3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply.

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it hang .
