Showing or hiding a toolbar in in word 2008 :

* In the menu View , Click Toolbars, Then click toolbar to display or hide.

Note : The toolbars are checked active.

When you open an Office application toolbars that appear are the same as those which were visible the last time you used the application. However, in Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac, the Reviewing toolbar is displayed automatically if you open a document containing tracked changes.

Displaying a toolbar docked or floating : You can dock some toolbars directly below the standard toolbar. If a toolbar is "floating" (not anchored), you can place at any location on the screen.

1. In the menu View, Click Customize toolbars and menus.
2. Click on the tab Toolbars and Menus.
Column Display shows the toolbars currently visible.
3. Under Anchor, Select or clear the checkbox next to the toolbar of your choice.

If a toolbar has no checkbox AnchorIt is impossible to anchor in the standard toolbar. However, you can manually drag any floating toolbar to the menu bar to anchor there. If the standard toolbar is displayed, it must be anchored.

Customizing the name or appearance of a menu command or button toolbar :

1. In the menu View, Click Customize toolbars and menus.
2. Click on the tab Toolbars and Menus.
3. Under Display, Select the checkbox next to the toolbar containing the button or menu command to edit.
4. Under Anchor, Clear the checkbox next to the toolbar containing the button or menu command to edit.
5. In the toolbar or menu bar, double-click or control change.
6. Make your changes.

You can edit the properties of buttons or menu commands to the toolbar if it is not anchored. You can not change the properties of buttons or menu commands, the standard toolbar.
