word 200X to 2007 compatibility

I have word docs created in an older version of Word. When opening in 2007 I see the "compatibility mode" noted in the top bar, however only the 1st line of heading appears normal, the body of the letter is all strange characters that have no meaning or make any sense. Weird little boxes squiggles et al. Other docs created in the older version seem to open fine. What am I missing??

Word 200X to 2007 compatibility

It seems that case i would suggest you to try it on different computer and take the same file once again and have a check for the same, because it might happen that there would be some issue with your file because of which you are facing such kind of issue.
