Hi,
I have been trying to update my windows 7 for weeks now, but keeps coming up with same error code '80070643'.
This is preventing windows updater from doing any updates, does anyone know why?
Thanks
Stuart

It appears as your Microsoft Office Source Engine (Ose.exe) is disabled or corrupted. In order to solve this problem you need to do the following
1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
2. In the list of services, double-click Office Source Engine.
3. View the Startup type list.
4. If the Startup type is set to Disabled, change the startup type to Manual. To do this, click Manual in the Startup type list, and then click OK.
5. Try to install the Office update again.
I suggest you to quit installation to Windows 7, since this operating system has many incompatibility issues with many applications and programs. It is good that the upgradation did not take place. May be there was something wrong with the connection when you tried to upgrade. But, I suggest that it will be better if you to stay away from Windows 7 operating system.
Sam, I have been on 7 since its launch, and this is the only problem i have had with it.
So will stick with it I think, its just not updating at the moment.
It may be that the system may have been affected by a threat due to which it is not able to get the file to update. This is because the syste file that is been use for updation may have been appended with the threat or some bug. Scan the system with agood antivirus tool.
Hi,
I have tried a previously mentioned method, that didn't work.
i am now running a scan with AVG
