You can easily monitor a remote (LAN or Internet) using a software that works with VNC. I use at work to control the hundreds of posts and all this without moving my PC.

I advise you to do that with UltraVNC. And that's all perfectly legal.

There is a lot of software to watch your computer, some are free but most cost money. There are keyloggers so that you can monitor what is typed on a computer. There are programs that sit in the back ground and record every thing on the screen per login.
If you just want to see where a person is going on the internet, that is easy. If they do not clear cookies,temp files or history. Its all stored there.
