Msn Messenger 2009 does not start

Hello

I have a friend who has a problem for a while with msn 2009. I try to find a solution but nothing work. i can't start msn messenger 2009.

The error message is this:

C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I already uninstall in normal mode and safe to do anything but when I reinstalled it still the same problem.

Do you have a solution that really works?

Start by checking through Windows Update all the packages and updates are downloaded.

Then make a right click on the application => property and see if by chance compatibility mode works for you.

And if after updates , if doesn't works uninstall and reinstall ms and after that restart.

Is it happens on startup? i was getting same erro some tim ago on every startup of my windows, i did remove it from startup and the problem got solved. Do Start> Run > Msconfig> "Startup" tab and uncheck Msmsgs.exe . Restart the PC and you won't get this error.

What I suggest is to use Trillian Messenger 7.0

It is a software through which you can log into MSN, Yahoo and others is that you choose yourself the connection address ...with all your contacts and you have the same features as MSN by any cons in English!

There's seem to have a lot of possibilities! It works!

It happens when sometimes more than one processes of a msnmsgr.exe runs in yuor windows account when you tries to run or start MSN Messenger repeatedly. Try to install and uninstall the re-WL Messenger by downloading genuine copy of Windows Live and temporarily disable or turn off the memory-resident anti-virus or firewall function. See if it helps.
