How to check DirectX Version

How to check on windows vista if I'm having directx 10 or DirectX 9. My graphic card is 8800 GTS, it supports the directx 10, Can I download directx version 10 now?

To check what version of DirectX on your computer

1. To open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click Start, type dxdiag in the search box, then click ENTER.
   
   
2. Click the System tab, then under System Information, check the version number.

Vista have DirectX 10 without any doubt. And your card also supports directx 10, however you can always download the latest directx version from microsoft website, this won't effect much but always good to be updated.

Go on windows update, look for updates ...

If you propose to download directx is that you have a later version than latest one ... and at the same time you can install it!

otherwise: Control Panel / Add / Remove Programs and watch list of what is already installed ...
