    How to use WebFilter - A parental control application

    There are 3 kids at my home who always keep stucked with the computer. As every parents are aware of and want to prevent their kids from surfing non-suitable websites, i also downloaded a parental control software that is WebFilter. I need some help from you all guys regarding the same. Could you guys please make me know how to install and configure WebFilter ? Thanks in advance.

    To install this software, just go through these steps:-
    • Download Software Web Filter
    • Double click on the file Optenet
    • Choose the file location Optenet.exe (eg C: / / Program Files / ..) Generally speaking, keep the option originally proposed.
    • Choose the language (of 6) and click Next
    • Enter the license, select "pay version" and enter the code data license in each box
    • Choose a password (which you will easily remember) that you will access the configuration after the filter.

    Remember that the password you enter at the time of WebFilter installation is the password of the administrator of the filter that can configure all the filter options, enable or disable. Select a question and answer that only you should know and you must remember. They come in handy if you forget your password. You can simply put "what is my email address" and give your email response. Accept the terms of the license agreement. Select a location to save the program by default: C: Program FilesOptenet.

    Configuration of WebFilter is very easy. To access Settings, click on the icon in the taskbar of Windows.Then on Administration. Enter the password you chose during installation. A browser window opens with all the filter options. To activate the filter:
    1. Enter the administration menu of the filter
    2. Choose the option "Configuration"
    3. At the top of the screen "State of the filter, click on" ON "to activate the filter, or" OFF "to deactivate.

    The configuration settings of Web Filter also enable you:
    • To block access to Internet when repeated attempts to connect to a banned site, or otherwise unlock
    • Select from among 25 themes or categories to filter
    • File types to filter (*. avi, *. exe, *. zip ...)
    • To define the route


    To filter content by keywords:
    • Select the "Settings" in the Administration menu
    • Enter the word or words to filter through the section filtering by keywords and click "Add"
    • Indicate areas of application
    • Click on "Save configuration".


    Create, edit or delete a profile matching:
    • In the Administration menu, select "User Profiles"
    • Click on "Empowering profiles" or disempowerment profiles "

    Parental control is not just installing software. Ideally, for this is the parental control on internet, you must show your children that you trust them, while limiting the risks associated with their natural curiosity. If installing a parental control software is felt by your children as suspicions against them, they will do anything to circumvent it.

    With WebFilter application you can also configure or edit a profile. To do so, Enter the name of the profile or user in the "New User". Enter a password, repeat it, then click "New Profile".
