    Missing App Data Folder

Hey.....I need a little help. My computer recently has had a few viruses, and the only way that I was able to remove them was to do a system restore. This has solved my virus problem, but has caused a new one. My AppData folder is gone......I know, I know, it's a hidden folder....but even when I have selected the option to show hidden folders, it still isn't there. This almost stopped me from being able to install new antivirus software, and is preventing me from using some of my online accounts. Please help!

Could you first of all tell us which windows operating system have you installed in your pc? Can you go to control panel or settings (depending on your theme) open folder options folder>"view" tab>advanced settings>hidden files and folders> click on the show hidden files and folders button then go back to the all users folder and see if it is now showing.

Can you press the Windows Logo Key + R, type:

    %appdata%

And see if the AppData Folder is getting displayed.

    Re: Missing App Data Folder

Actually, the Application Data folder are Hidden folders that can be seen in the below path:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data
    C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Application Data
    C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Application Data
    C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Application Data
    C:\Documents and Settings\YourNameHere\Application Data

By default, the Search companion does not search for hidden or system files. Because of this, you may be unable to find files, even though they exist on the drive. To search for hidden or system files in Windows XP:
    1. Click Start, click Search, click All files and folders, and then click More advanced options.
    2. Click to select the Search system folders and Search hidden files and folders check boxes.

    Re: Missing App Data Folder

Are you able to access that by typing - %appdata% in run box. If not the actual location of this folder is C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data. If you want you can create this folder and then try to install applications. It helps to some extent. This will not work if you are not logged in Admin account due to low privileges.
