This error occurs in the following situations:
    1. The Office 2008 is running on mac which is connected in the network
    2. The other instance of MS-Office is running on different computer in network
    3. The product Key may be same for both instances.

To control this situation you need to remove the license information from one computer and enter a valid and unique ID for office 2008.

To solve this problem,go through the steps :
    - Jump on finder and click GO and then Applications
    - Browse the Microsoft office 2008 folder and select the Office folder
    - Send OfficePID.plist file into the Trash.
    - Close all Windows and jump again for Finder
    - Enter into home folder and browse Library and then Preferences folder and then Open Microsoft folder
    - Move to the Office 2008 folder into Trash
    - Close all windows and restart the office 2008 and enter a unique key when it requires.

    Enabling Menus:

This is the only facility provided by Office 2008 for Mac named "Word 5.1 Menus" which is used to enable and disable the menu in document of Word 2008.To make sure word 5.1 Menus is enabled or not, you have to click on the view and investigate the check box is checked or not if you find unchecked it then please check it and close the window and open it again.
