You can check by following methods in windows vista and reply me:
    # Click on the Start and go to Control Panel.
    # Double click on "Problem Reports and Solutions".
    # Find the "See Problems to Check" on the left hand pane and click on it.
    # Under Skype, click "More Details".
    # Copy everything in the red box under that windows and paste it into a reply to this thread.
    # and click OK.

Skype video problem in windows vista

I saw the above reports and found that your installed version of Skype is corrupted. So you need to install new version of skype and check that. If you found same issue then check your Direct X version of system and reply me. Best of luck.

Skype video problem in windows vista

If you have Skype 4.1 installed , then open up and log into Skype then go to tools menu and click option. Then you can find that on left pane Video Settings, click on that and then WebCam Settings. If you found checked the low light Boost, Please unchecked that . This may help you with general video on Skype. I hope the problem will solved.

Skype video problem in windows vista

I have the same problem with my skype on last month. I have solved that issue by following method:
    # Download the new and latest DirectX SDK version from microsoft website.
    # Install on your system.
    # Then go to start menu and all programs.
    # Find the Microsoft DirectX SDK > DirectX Utilities.
    # Click on DirectX Control Panel
    # Find Direct3D 9 tab and make sure that Use Retail Version of Direct3D is selected.
    # Check Maximum Validation check box and unchecked Break on D3D9 Error.
    # Restart the system.
