| Re: Problems in using Isync to Sync phone to iMac
I can see that the version of the Isync you are using is very old. As the version of the application which you are using is very old, hence it may not have that many features. The earlier version of the Isync are capable of detecting only one device at time to be synced with a particular computer. I think the version you are using also does not allow multiple phones to be synced with the same computer hence it is giving the error. Try and update the version of the software and see if it works. |

Check the connecting cord of the phone which is connecting the computer to the phone. It is possible that the cord is faulty and hence the iSync is not detecting the phone connected to it. Most of the phones have a USB data cord which develop faults very easily. The data cord of the phone is made of many lines of the conductor which may develop some faults if they are not stored properly. Hence try to change the cord and then check if the phone can be synced with the computer. Also try to change the port on which the phone is connected to as it may also be faulty. |

Have you deleted the phone from the Device connected list of the Isync and the iMac? Many times if the device is connected once to the iMac, it gets listed in the device connected list and the system starts treating the device as the default device. The problem which you are getting is because the Isync is treating your friends phone as the default device and it is trying to sync with it. Remove the Phone from the Bluetooth list of the iMac. Now connect the phone you want to sync and see if the iSync is able to sync with it.

To delete all the entries of the old phone from the Imac you can download the SyncroInspector application which can be downloaded for the operating system which you are using. It is possible that the phone which you had connected using bluetooth is conflicting with the phone you want to sync. Therefore you will have to delete all the entries of the old phone from your computer. Once the application is downloaded and installed, run it and look for all the entries related to the old phone. Delete all the entries which are related to the old phone and then see if the phone gets synchronized. Also becareful while deleting the entries as deleting wrong entries will cause operating system failure. |

Using a 3rd party application to delete the entries of the phone can be really dangerous as deleting wrong entries will result in operating system failure. Instead of using syncroinspector, you can delete the entries of the phone manually. To delete the entries of the phone manually, open the Users folder. Now in the Users folder find the following folder "/Library/Phones/". Open this folder and then delete all the phones which are listed in the folder. Close the folder and then run the iSync and connect the phone which you want to sync with the iMac. |
