Sony Ericsson PC Suite 6 undetects device under Windows 7

Hi. I use a desktop machine with windows 7 installed as the operating system. I have purchased Sony ericsson mobile phone and have downloaded the pc suite application of version 6.009 to connect it to the system and transfer media files. But it do not detect any device phone that is been attached while executing the application. Please help. Thank you.

As you have downloaded the application it is quite possible that the downloaded file may not be proper. It may consist some bugs or issues due to which some of the important system files may not have been loaded. This results in undetecting the phone that is been connected. So you could try installing the suite application from the disc that may have been provided.

The compatibility issue is very much in concern with Windows 7 operating system. You need to check whether the application has the capability to cope up well with the operating system that you are using. It is quite possible that the device or he application may not respond to the same as it requires good feature so as to gel up with the system. Check out.

The data cable may be a factor that is unable to make you get connected with the system. Check out the data cable that you are using in order to transfer the media files from the system to the phone or vice versa. This hall help in getting to the conclusion that the problem is associated with the the cable or not. Hopefully you can get sort out from the issue by using some other cable to check.

Upgrading the driver for the system should help you in making the device to get detected under widows 7 with the pc suite application. It may be that after the upgradation of the operating system the application may not be very much compatible with the operating system. So you need to update the software from the official site. This should help you out.

Try to run the software under safemode. This should help in executing the software application well with the system. Safe mode has low features and then it do not require any updated firmware so as to get cope with the tool. Just have a look to the application that it is been executed under the same. Uninstall the software and then install it again. Now execute it under safe mode.

Just an FYI for you.

It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.

In any event a lot of the times, Vista drivers will work in lieu of Windows 7 drivers, however, it's not 100%!

As stated previously, it's best to have the Windows 7 certified drivers installed.
