    Itunes error message 9808

    Hi,

When trying to connect iphone with itunes and after a second I get error message: "Could not complete your request to the iTunes Store. An unknown error occurred (-9808). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later." This normally happens when I click on the iTunes Store. Actually nothing can synchronize! Till yesterday, everything was fine. I have a windows xp pc.

There might a connection issue, try to open correct ports and allow access to Apple servers

During the update and recovery, must connect to Apple iTunes. Make sure the following ports open on your computer and that computer has access to these servers:
    Gate 80
    Port 443
    phobos.apple.com, albert.apple.com, gs.apple.com

If you "Error 9807" will see, you need access to VeriSign servers following steps:
    evintl-ocsp.verisign.com
    evsecure-ocsp.verisign.com

You have to configure or disable the built-in firewalls and other security software in order to run iTunes update properly.

To remove error 9808, Check the date, time and time zone of your pc. If it is incorrect, set the correct one. If still you still see this warning message, this problem can be solved by some settings in the Internet Options control panel to change:
    1. Click Start menu and choose Control Panel.
    2. Go to Internet Options or Small Icons to Internet Options to see.
    3. Click on the Advanced tab.
    4. Under Settings scroll down to the Security section. Uncheck the option "Check for server certificate revocation" undo.
    5. Select the options "Use SSL 3.0" and "Use TLS 1.0".
    6. Apply your changes and restart the computer.

Try connecting your iPhone to a different USB port on your Mac or Windows PC. Choose instead of a hub, preferably a USB 2.0 port that is integrated into the computer. If you've tried the iPhone or iPod touch using a USB port on the front of the computer to connect, you can try using a USB port on the back to connect. Try the device in iTunes and then restore.
    If the problem persists:
    1. Remove all USB devices except the keyboard, mouse, and the iPhone. Remove all USB hubs and connect the device directly to your computer.
    2. Connect your iPhone directly (not through the dock) to the supplied USB cable.
    3. Restart the computer.
    4. Try to restore the device again in iTunes.
    5. Try, if possible, alternative USB cable with good quality.

Yes I understood that. There is a simple fix for your problem. Just do this, first launch your iTunes program and click on Advance tab. In that you have to scoll below to look for Security. Once you got remove the tick from Check for server revocation certificate. Restart the iTunes and now again check back. I was facing a similar with my ipod which worked well.
