This is basically the problem of system compatibility. Your system may not be well versed and may not have the power to take load of such sophisticated softwares. You need to take care that the system is good enough that it can take the load of such applications. Uninstall the theme and then check out whether you get the same conclusion. This should sort the issue well. As it is a basic problem.

As you have installed windows xp on your system and then you installed windows 7 theme over it results overloaded application. This will slow down the processing speed of your system. You need to check out whether your system have enough Ram to sustain the load. Only then you would get to a conclusion. The hardware compatibility may have let the system to process slow that is slow computing.

Your system may have been affected by a virus. This is generally a problem that many of them does face. A virus is the cause of such issue. I too had the similar problem. It is not that your system needs to be very upgraded or powerful processing speed. It is quite a matter of fact to be considered but a virus would cause such issues even if you have a high processing system.

One thing you could do is to run a antivirus scan check wizard for the same. This will scan the system completely and will analyze if any virus is affecting the system due to which the system is unable to respond quick or process. A virus generally slows the processing speed. Use Quick Heal antivirus tool for the scan check wizard. It would make sure that the system is Virus free.

A system restore shall solve the problem. You need to set the system to restore its settings to default that would enable you to process faster. Follow the steps as given below:

* Click the start menu option.
* Go to the programs option.
* Then go to accessories.
* Now click on system tools.
* Open the system restore option.
* Set the date accordingly when it worked fine.

This should work well.
