Prevent capitalized letter in open office

    Hi,
I am new in open office. I have some doubts which I am posting here and please provide the relevant solutions. First what is the way to a equivalent of different color formats. I need a way to check the type of data in a cell. How to see that. And then delete the same. The most annoying this is the first letter of each sentence gets capital automatically. How to stop that. And show a way to check duplicates in a range of a cell. This one is for the spreadsheet.

This spreadsheet allows you to view color by setting the RGB values (red, green, blue) in a dialog. The equivalence formats Hex Long and displayed automatically. It is also possible to enter a Long or Hex value to find the equivalent RGB. A TextField can see the result of the color set. You can then retrieve the color code to suit your needs, and in the format you want (Hex, RGB or Long).

Reading a cell is done differently depending on it is text or numeric value. It is therefore important to identify the type of content in the cell. If you write Cellule.Value while the cell is empty, the macro returns 0. If you write Cellule.Value when the cell contains text, the macro returns 0. Formulas can contain text or numeric values. If you write Cellule.Value as the result of the formula displays text, the macro returns 0.

It is quiet easy to clear up a content from the sheet. The same traditional way of pressing delete from your keyboard. Open office does not need any other different settings for the same. When you delete the contents of cells manually using the button DELETE, the dialog Delete content appears automatically and you must validate it by clicking the button OK. To remove the cell contents without displaying the window, use the keyboard RETURN.

It is because by default the settings are configured to yes in order to capitalize the first alphabet of the sentence. The same can be disabled by entering the settings from the tools menu. This are the pparameters of self-correction. To disable that click on the Tools menu > AutoCorrect. Then select the Options tab in the dialog box. Uncheck the line Capitalize first letter of sentence. Click Ok to confirm.

You can view duplicates in a range of cells, using the conditional format function. The format allows you to apply conditional formatting when a specific condition is met. This function allows to better visualize some data but also to hide (for example, applying the same color to text and background of the cell ). You can access this function from the menu Format / Conditional Format. You can add Cell Styles in addition to those proposed by default, from the menu Format / Styles and Formatting (or press F11 shortcut).
