    Can We Auto-Run Excel Spreadsheet.??

Hi Friends, thought that you can help me in solving my query. Here is my question. Is it possible to make a spreadsheet pop up automatically once logged on to a machine on a network without making it happen through some sort of server process?? It should be that there will be a excel spreadsheet that contains new information everyday and that should be automatically pop up when each individual person logs onto a computer. If there is any way, please tell me ..

For Auto-Run Excel Spreadsheets you can try doing the following steps :
    • Create a folder.
    • Then copy the spreadsheet that you want to appear at the Start up.
    • You can create a network folder, if you want but the users should have the permission to access it.
    • Then configure each of the users' Excel to open files in this folder whenever Excel Starts.
    • Lastly add a link to Excel in the startup folder.

I think that the trick mentioned by the Raine should work. But he has not mentioned how to configure the users' Excel to open files in the folder that you created whenever Excel starts. You can do this for configuring that :
    • Go in the Tools option.
    • Then select the Option tab.
    • Then click on the General tab.
    • After then, click on At Startup, open all files in.
    • Then give the name of the folder that you created at the beginning.

You can also try to create a shortcut to the file that you want to auto-run and add that shortcut to the startup folder. I have not tried doing this genuinely, but the logic makes sense. After adding the short cut to start up, it will open the file with whatever application is the default for that file type. And I think that you want to do the same. Hope that this small thing can solve your query.

You can do lots of trials for such queries. I would like to suggest one solution :
Copy the link to Microsoft Excel and change the Target to have the full path to the XLS in quotes after it. For Example :
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\EXCEL.EXE" "\\NETWORK\MyFiles\spreadsheet.xls"
You can use the "Start In\OFFICE11"
Hope that this will work for you..
