    Zune Error : The ordinal 281 could not be located in the dynamic link library msi.dll.

    Hi,

    I am unable to update Zune player software. Everytime I try to update I get the error message, "The ordinal 281 could not be located in the dynamic link library msi.dll." What does this error mean and plz tell how to resolve this error ???

    Restart the Zune player. Follow the instructions for the type of player that you: Zune HD Player: Hold the on / off button for about 10 seconds until the device restarts. Do not touch Zune Player: Put the hold parameter to the unlocked position and then hold the button Back button as you press the top of the Zune pad. When the Zune device starts to reboot, you can release the buttons. On Zune HD Player: Hold the on / off button for about 10 seconds until the device restarts. When the Zune device starts to reboot, you can release the buttons. When the Zune device, reboot does not solve the problem, restart the computer. Install the latest Windows service pack.     Try connecting the Zune device to another USB port on your computer. Use a USB port on the back of the computer. Use a USB hub. When the Zune device is run again, connect the Zune device to the computer that is installed on the current Zune software. Then update the device on the current device software version.

    To update your Zune device, follow these steps: Make sure you have the current version of the Zune software installed on your computer. To do this, follow these steps:

    • Install the Zune software to your computer.

    • If you already have an earlier version of the Zune software installed on your computer, update the software. To do this, click settings, click software, click General, then click CHECK FOR UPDATES

    Examine the computer for conflicts that involve the host controller or the USB root hub. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click the right mouse button on a computer, then click Properties.
    2. Click on Device Manager.
    3. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
    4. Verify that no errors are listed in the list of USB devices. A yellow exclamation point or red "X" next to a device indicates errors. If errors are listed, contact the manufacturer of your computer.

    Try creating another user account on a computer that is running Windows XP, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type control user passwords and then click OK.
    2. Under Select a task to create a new account.
    3. Enter a name for the new account, and then click Next.
    4. Click Select an account type, and then click Create Account.
    5. Log on to the computer with the new account, and then try again to update the software on the Zune device.
