    Sound stutters in Windows XP.?!

After formatting my system recently, I am facing some sound problem. Whenever I play some audios the sound seems to be stuttering. This was not happening previously. Does this issue is coming because of the Sound Driver.?? I am having Windows XP as operating system. According to me I have installed the sound drivers properly. Any suggestions.??

I think that the Drivers you have installed are not matching to your card. Try to use the drivers that came with the computer or card. This type of the problem comes mostly when You install the wrong drivers. Are you able to see the drivers installed in the Device Manager.?? If not then install the drivers properly. Otherwise there might be some issue with your card.

Have you tried to use different programs for playing the audios.?? Such problem can occur if your application that you using to play the audios is corrupted. So before uninstalling or trying to install the new drivers for the Sound, I would like to suggest you install some recent application that is used to play the audios. Even then the problem is coming, then you can try to install the new drivers. Try to install the latest VLC, in which you can check the audios as well as videos.

I would like to suggest you to do the following things :
    • Try to insert the sound card into a different PCI slot.
    • Go into BIOS and disable onboard ac97 in there. This is for your onboard sound.
    • If you still have stuttering open up the task manager and end any non system processes that is not being used by you.
    • Start windows in safe mode (pressing F8 st startup) - uninstall Live card, reboot normally, and install Live Windows XP drivers.
    • Finally reboot your system.

Hope this will work for you.

Even I would like to suggest you to install the latest driver for your sound card. Before installing the updated driver, you will have to uninstall the existing drivers. You can do this by following the steps :
    1. Right Click on the "My Computer" icon placed on the desktop.
    2. Select the option Manage.
    3. In Manage, select the option Device Manager.
    4. You will able to see the drivers installed for the sound at the right side.
    5. Right click on the sound driver and select the option uninstall.

After uninstalling you have to install the newer version of the sound drivers.

I think you should fix your sound section errors. I quote from: http://ezinearticles.com/?Speed-Up-W...ips&id=3496888
