Now the problem when i try to open my my Office 2003 on Office 2007 it gives out an error message stating Office 2007 application compatibility issues. Can any one tell me that why i'm facing Office 2007 application compatibility issues on my pc? Does any body knows about it? Kindly help me out to resolve the above issue. Thanks.

Re: Office 2007 application compatibility issues

New file types present a number of document exchange and conversion issues that need to be resolved. The 2007 Office system offers a new feature, compatibility mode, to provide backward compatibility with previous versions of Office. You can still save files in Office 2007 programs in Office 2003 file formats. Just select Word 97-2003 Document (*.doc) from the Save As Type drop-down list in the Save As dialog box. You can change the default file save options for Microsoft Office Word 2007, Microsoft Office Excel 2007, and Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 with Group Policy.

Re: Office 2007 application compatibility issues

The web browser often believes the new formats to be in foreign languages and cannot assign an appropriate file association. Compatibility checker is a dialog box that appears when there are features in a document that would be lost or degraded, either when a document is saved in an previous format or switched into compatibility mode. If you want to always save files in the old format by default, click the Office button, then the <program name> Options button, and select Save in the left pane. Choose Word 97-2003 Document (*.doc) from the Save Files In This Format drop-down list.

Re: Office 2007 application compatibility issues

Application compatibility updates might cause several behaviors on your Windows Xp. This means that a function within a 3rd party application may no longer start or simply return an empty string. XML is an open standard, and the change makes it easier to move files between different applications and the file sizes are smaller than those saved in the old file formats. However, users with previous versions of Office may not be able to open files in the new formats.

Re: Office 2007 application compatibility issues

This problem occurs because a legacy application may install drivers that are incompatible with Windows Xp. If you prefer to use a different web browser, you can obtain updates from the Microsoft Download Center or you can stay up to date with the latest critical and security updates by using Automatic Updates. Typically, the software vendor's Web site provides a support section that includes more information about compatibility.
