Evolution & command line

Hello.
Do you know if it is possible to configure the mail client Evolution only command line without having to go through the GUI? The problem is that I needed to install on a server and the server said no GUI. If you have any links or other, I am a buyer. Thank you in advance

Re: Evolution & command line

Hi
Oh ya, this can be the solution, I never though of it. But there can not be another way? Because your solution involves installing Linux on a client to use the option -x ssh, or there is the server that runs Linux, the posts being under XP. And editing configuration files for Evolution is not it? I do not know where they are by cons! Any more suggestion or advice on this. Please help.

I do not think that unfortunately we can use evolution in text mode. After if you do not need the specific functionality that provides exchange evolution you can use a client like mutt (which can be used in text mode).

That's precisely the big problem, I need Evolution to communicate with Exchange 2007 (which anyway has apparently not possible at the moment). In short, what is the solution for this or is there any other option which I can apply.

You can use the X11 forwarding on Windows using Cygwin, which allows you to install an X server on Windows. Otherwise, you can just install an X server on Windows without Cygwin, Xming , And use Putty with option X11 forwarding. Hope this helps you. Any more queries feel free to post.
