Yahoo photoshare and display images are not working, what to do?

Hey people, I am using Yahoo messenger, version 9 and running Windows XP SP2 on my system. I am having weird issues. I had issues playing yahoo games but after updating my flash and java it seems to work fine now. But a new problem or rather problems have cropped up. Whenever i tried to photo share on the messenger, the photo's are either gray images or are very pixilated/fuzzy. No matter how many times i try it, the result is the same. I also noticed that the display images for the person i am chatting with are black, basically i can't see anyone's display image. Is this normal?? How to fix this??

Hey buddy, it seems your yahoo messenger isn't loading your images. The images are not getting loaded both in your photo share and the display. It is possible that you are either working with a very slow connection which leads to those images not being loaded at all. In photo share the images are loaded as fast as your connection. Have you experienced slow browsing when this happens or do you have a slow connection? If it is a one off problem then i am sure once your connection is fine it will go back to normal but if not then try reinstalling the messenger and see if it works.

Well i had a similar issues with photo share but never with the display images. I was using an older version of messenger and was trying to photo share with a person who was using the latest yahoo messenger 10. Well i could never see his images in photo share but he could see the pictures when i put them for sharing. I uninstalled the messenger and downloaded the new version. After installation i have had no problems till now and photo share is working fine without any complaints.

From my initial reaction i would say that this seems to be a connection issue. Are you using a proxy connection to sign in on messenger using its proxy settings?? If yes try signing in with a normal connection and if the problem still exists. Also check and see if your connection is slow which is leading to this issue. The pictures in display and photo share will load as fast as the connection and your system will allow it. Installing the new version of yahoo messenger might work as well, maybe this is a bug in version 9 of the messenger.

Well i too had this issue in terms of the photo share option of the yahoo messenger. But this was on Yahoo messenger version 10, so i doubt if this is a problem with the versions of messenger. What i observed was that this issue wasn't consistent and was at its worst when the connection was slow. During the time i was using a dial up connection it seemed it took forever to load the pictures in photo share but eventually they would get loaded. I suggest waiting for a while after you photo share and see if the images load one by one in a slow manner.

Well from what i know it is neither a yahoo messenger version issue nor a proxy issue. What happens usually when you drag and drop the image on photo share is basically the other person is shown the image by downloading it. This is done by photo share. If the picture is huge in file size say like 10 mb then it will take time to load and hence the delay. It will be loaded as fast as your connection. If you have any firewalls with spy ware blockers or any anti virus which does check for it then usually it will block photo sharing which leads to this problem. Also when you laod pictures for the other person on photo share, don't just go on a wild streak uploading pictures one after the other, keep a bit of delay when putting the next picture on it. The other person will see the pictures depending on how fast it gets downloaded and how big the image file is.
