| windows 7 customized taskbar settings always gets changed
Hi friends, I have bought a new Dell studio 1555 laptop with windows Vista , But Recently when I installed Windows 7 Pro Edition. After the installations I customized my desktop , Toolbar, Taskbar and the shortcuts so that i can quickly launch the desired programs or commands. Now when when I reboot my laptop all my toolbars and the taskbar settings gets reset to default by itself ,they does not stay in the configured position. I tried creating a new account and after that customized the settings again But it turned of no use . If you have any Ideas to solve this then please suggest at your earliest? |

Your problem seems to be quite primitive in nature the toolbar settings in windows vista is similar to that in the windows 7 . I think your laptop has been affected by some sort of malware .Get it removed by installing some antivirus. Get it cleaned by the Antivirus . And try to customized the settings again according to your needs . Hope this works! |

hi Welsh , I do not think that this problem is due to some kind of malware or virus . Hence , Installing an anti-virus or anti-malware and scanning the whole computer will not help. Try searching for this problem on the official site of Windows 7 . You will get these problems solved on it if somebody else also had faced a similar kind of a problem. If you do not get a suitable solution on the official site try to ask your question on the microsoft's website. Last edited by Solomon : 19-12-2009 at 04:14 PM. |

I have also tried different sort of solutions but they didn't worked. until I tried this. 1)Arranged all the icons and 2)Customize the taskbar and toolbars 2)Right click on a blank area of the desktop and click on Refresh two three times. 3)Reboot you computer manually. I think my desperation made me try this but it worked for me. Give it a try if nothing else has worked. |

I am well aware of such a kind of problem because i have already faced it before tried changing certain settings but all seemed to be in vein.I think it is not a malware or a virus error it is just because your window file is corrupted try reinstalling your windows and then adjust or customize your settings as needed this will definitely solve your problem. Hello everybody, The "malware/corupted" hypothesis is very disturbing. Take my case. 1/ Full install of Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit English from original DVD and newly partitioned disk 2/ Applied security updates (from an enterprise Internet connection) 3/ Installed COMODO Firewall 4/ Installed Avast I have started to set up my system as above 1 week ago, but still not using the system, because all these configuration issues (I am an XP user). Don't forget to post a link here to the solution if you find it elsewhere. |
