To open any doc file in the Office 2010 Public beta please follow the below instructions:
    1. You need to first open the "regedit".
    2. Then you have to locate "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\" this path of the registry.
    3. Then locate all available sub-key within "FileExts".
    4. Then you have to delete all the sub-key which are named as "UserChoice" which are under the "Registry Editor".

    Hello friend,

It seems that you have not properly installed the Office 2010 Public beta. I suggest you to uninstall the Office 2010 Public beta application. Then restart your system after uninstallation. Then reinstall the Office 2010 Public beta. This may solve your Office 2010 Public beta problem. My friend had same Office 2010 Public beta issue. He did the reinstallation of this application. Now he is able to open the doc file in the Office 2010 Public beta.

    Hi,

I can give you few suggestions regarding the Office 2010 Public beta. You can try to troubleshoot the "Office 2010 Public beta" application. Please also try to upgrade the "Office 2010 Public beta". You operating system may encounter this error, so you should also try to reinstall "Windows 7" operating system. If this doesn't make sense , then you need to find all occurrences of the "UserChoice subkey". Other than this suggestion I don't know anymore regarding the Office 2010 Public beta errors.

Re: Troubles in using Office 2010 Public beta

I have found all the "UserChoice subkey" occurrences and deleted that subkeys. I had downloaded Office 2010 Public beta from the Microsoft website the and then I reinstalled it. Again I tried to open the doc file in the Office 2010 Public beta , and didn't encounter any problem. Now I am able to open the doc file without browsing from the Office 2010 Public beta.
Thanks to all for giving quick solution!!!
