Which also contain Windows firewall and Windows Security Center. The state of your computer security is connected to the monitor. It is not needed to Symantec products. If your system is working on Windows XP then you do not required service pack 2 for your working.Windows XP Service Pack 2 is a very main security-focused operating system with upgrades. |

It depend up the Symantec products which you have. If Norton AntiVirus do not get affected if you are installing service pack 2. The Windows Security Center is a part of windows XP service pack 2. It will know that you have installed the antivirus in it. But it will not know it's working status. Because of the Symantec's tamper-protection technology. |

Symantec has been update and released which gives the compatibility to the Windows Security Center by which it can give the status of report to your Symantec security software. In this update it includes Norton AntiVirus 2005, and it is updated live, it will install in Windows XP, but it will not work till you not have the Windows Security Center installed.
