    Print tray with kde

    Hi
I recently installed opensues 11.2 via DVD and KDE as my default desktop envirnoment. There were no media errors, the installation was smoothly done and the operating system is so far good, I think better than Kubuntu. The problem I have is with the printer, that is there is a problem in printing jobs. I use an Epson printer which is plugged in as a wireless router. The printer worked fine the previous version of opensuse. I installed the printer and tried to print a job, before that I noticed that there was no icon in the tray, the print job was not complete. I got an error in the print job. I even tried to cancel it from the cups but it was not responding. Then I had to physically turn off the printer. Can I get the printing job in the tray and why is it chocking like that? Any idea on this. Please help.

    Hi
For print configuration rather that to set it from kde, try to set it from yast2, because opensuse usually hands configuration through yast2. I think the system tray icon which you are talking about are provided by the vendor through the printer driver. If you have the printer driver insert it and try to install it again. There will be additional tools available in the printer cd to. If you need them you can install them.

    Hi
As you said I have did the configurations through yast, but still I have to manage the print jobs in cups. I had read about the HP utilities, but have not tried them. My printer is epson I do not think they will work with it. Now I have installed the KDE job viewer , but unfortunately it does not start when I assign a job for printing. Any more suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi
I use opensuse 11.1 and kde4 desktop envirnoment. The keyboard layout is as follows
    1) Serbia default,
    2) Serbia latin,
    3) USA default,
    4) Canada default.
When i enable the layout it shows the indicator with an country flag option for selection. The problem is that when I try to select the usa the flag disappears. The images of the flags are in the png file format. The flags are in the usr/local/bin. Any idea on this.

    Hi
I have the same problem with the same behavior. I did try to find out the solution for this but was not successful. Then trying all the way I submitted this bug to the kde official site. I have no idea which of the packages provides this flags. Any one there knows how to do this, then please post back and help us. Thanks in advance.
