I want to remove WinDVD 9. I don't know how to manually remove all traces of WinDVD. Because there are some programs that are unstable and some programs are crashing. I am using Windows XP as the operating system. So does anyone know how to remove the WinDVD manually.? Please help me to sort out this issue..!!

To manually remove WinDVD 9, first you will have to unhide all the files and folders. You can do this by going in Control Panel and selecting the folder option. In folder option you will see option "Show Hidden Files and Folders", just click on that option. Then you will able to view all files and folders including the hidden. Go to the My Computer, and then C: drive. In C: drive you will see folder named "Documents and Settings". After entering into that folder go in "InterVideo" folder, there will be a "DVD9" folder, this is the folder that you are looking to erase. Also go to the following path :
"C:\Program Files\InterVideo\Common" . You will find the folder "Bin". You have to delete this folder. Now in same path you will also find folder "InterVideo". You can delete this folder also.

You can also remove WinDVD 9 settings from the registry by following the steps :

    1. Click on Start and then Run. Type regedit and click OK.
    2. Then click on "HKEY_CURRENT_USER". In that you will find the Software option. Select the software and click on InterVideo.
    3. You can delete the "DVD9" folder situated in InterVideo folder. Just right click on that and press delete.
    4. Restart the system. After restarting go to run command and type %temp% and click OK to delete the temporary files.

You can simply uninstall the specific application by Add / Remove option which is present in the Control Panel. You have to just go in Control Panel , then select the Add or Remove programs. Once you are inside that, you have to select the application (WinDVD 9 in your case) and click on remove. This is not the manual way. But it can remove your application completely, which is more better than to remove part of it. At many times you cannot remove the programs from the Add Remove program, at such scenario there are some softwares to remove the application forcefully. Try that software which are easily available on net.

For the manual removal of the folder go to the location where it resides. By default it is in C: drive. In C: drive you will find a folder having name as Program Files. The installed files are always located in this folder. After going to the Program Files, you will find Intervideo folder which gets installed after installing
WinDVD 9 in your system. The files that you created are stored in this folder. So you can delete the files from this folder. But be sure that you are deleting the user file and not the application file. Otherwise your application will not work.
