Error Message : Word Cannot Save or Create This File

Hi,

I have office 2007 installed recently. My problem is that ms word 2007 works fine but I am not able to save it. Everytime I get the error message : "Word cannot save or create this file. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected. " What does this error means ???

As per Microsoft, try the following steps, to overcome the error message : Word Cannot Save or Create This File :
1. Start Microsoft Word.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the File Locations tab.
4. Under File Types, click User Templates, and then click Modify.
5. In the Modify Location dialog box, select a new folder name and click OK. The default value is:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates
6. Under File Types, click Workgroup Templates, and then click Modify.
7. In the Modify Location dialog box, select a new Folder Name and click OK twice. The default value is undefined (blank).
8. Quit Word without saving changes to Normal.dot and then restart Word.

Word writes a new Normal.dot file in the location specified in step 5.

If Word writes the Normal.dot file in a location other than the one you specified, follow these steps:

1. Manually move (don't copy) the Normal.dot file to the directory you want.
2. Follow steps 1 through 5 above to set the User Templates path to the directory that contains the Normal.dot file.

You will be able to overcome this problem through these steps above. If you still face this problem, Word files may have been damaged. You will use Word recovery software for recovering corrupted files. Other cases of file corruption in Word may vary from a virus attack, unexpected system shutdown, error reading media or the accidental deletion of files. The software will help in all these difficult situations.

Open Excel and click the Office button (round of Big Button) go to "Excel Options" (button at the bottom of the menu) and make sure to "save" the path is proper, including "auto-save" location. Make sure you have write permissions to these directories, same with the windows environment variables TEMP and TMP, make sure you have permissions on folders.
