2. In the Temp folder, click Select All from the Edit menu, press DELETE, and then click Yes to confirm you want to send all items to the Recycle Bin.

4. On the General tab, click Delete Files.
5. Click to select the Delete all offline content check box and then click OK.

Re: Disk Cleanup tool stops responding

Disk Cleanup tool stops responding or hangs. This problem occurs when an incorrect entry in the register for Disk Cleanup is used to search for compressed files. An incorrect use of Registry Editor can cause serious problems that may occur if you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
To work around this problem:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit and click OK.
  2. Click the following registry key:
    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches
  3. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
  4. When you are prompted to remove the key to confirm, click Yes.
  5. Close the Registry Editor.
