    Problem with the Sata Driver

    Hello,

I am having the "ACi Icon S" laptop. Recently i upgraded it with the Windows 7 for the better performance and the functionality. I thought that this will help me to improve my work. But i am not happy with the functionality of the windows 7 so i decide to reinstall the Windows XP which i was using before. I formatted my PC and installed the new OS. Now it needs SATA driver and i don't know where to get . So help me with the driver download.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Let me know first that you are getting this problem at the time when you are booting form the XP CD. If it is and afterword it say that hard drive is not detected then does not mean that you need SATA driver. You don't need SATA Driver. Do the following, go to BIOS and disable the SATA from the BIOS menu which was enable before. Now restart the machine and boot the XP CD again to install the OS.

    Thanks.

    Hey,

I don't understand that why you need SATA driver because i have installed lots of the Operating system but till now i don't require the SATA driver for my OS. Whatever reason you need that it does not matter but if you want the same it is in the Motherboard CD. You can install it from there. After the XP is installed on your system then insert the Motherboard CD it will automatically install the SATA driver.

    Bye.

    Hi,

You will have to slipstream into the Compact Disk. You try the different version depend on motherboard or search for it on the Intel website. Or download standard from the site which is compatible with the with most of the motherboards. After downloading extract the driver and remember the location.

    Thanks.
