BartPE Builder is a utility for creating a Live Windows XP CD. From an installation CD or the XP installation files for XP, Bart PE Builder creates a "mini Windows" on media (CD or USB key) where you can start. In addition, the CD supports your local network (internet) which allows when the PC is "sick" can start in 32-bit environment and administer your machine. The advantage of PE Builder is that it is possible to add the bootable CD or USB, many utilities necessary for troubleshooting and system maintenance.

When creating the boot CD for XP, BartPE Builder will need a valid version of Windows or an installation CD / restoration or installation files for Windows (i386 folder), see service pack. Here are the different versions of operating system supported by BartPE Builder and the links to download these updates. Of course, if you already have a recent installation CD and then update it is not necessary to download anything.
