What is a dell base system device

I'm having a Dell laptop. Recently i had formatted and install a fresh copy of Windows Xp on my Dell laptop. After that i had even installed all the drivers on my laptop and everything seems to be working fine. But when i go into the device manager, there i can see three unknown drivers which are placed under " others " titled as 'base system device'. So, can any body tell me that what is a dell base system device? What drivers can i install in order to remove them from my laptop? Does any body have any idea about it? Kindly help me out to resolve the above issue.

Have you install the chipset drivers on your system? If not then install the Chipset driver, followed by the video driver, then the sound driver, and finally the network drivers. The remaining drivers can be loaded in any order.

Base system device are nothing but the media card reader. If you look at the information for the "Dell Utility - System Software" under the System Utilities section, it indicates specifically that this software should be installed first on your pc, after installing the operating system.

That's related with the Media card reader, for that you need to download and install the driver listed under Chipsets, which you will get on the official Dell website. After installing it on your system you will not find any unknown drivers under your device manager.

I also have this problem, I have gone to dell but the download program will not work or I don't have the know how to get the new drivers installed.
They have changed how the drivers are downloaded and installed.
All else work on my system.
