| Unable to find settings for itunes registry problem
I bought a new laptop- Samsung NP-R420 a week ago. I am very much addicted to music. I use itunes very often, and so I installed the latest itunes on my laptop. I am using Windows XP as I am very used to it rather then Vista. But I am enable to use itunes. Every time I try an alert is displaying a message Missing Registry Settings for iTunes. I have no idea why is this alert popping up when I try to use itunes. What is the reason for it? |

Try to re-install iTunes. Un-install the current program of iTunes completely from your laptop and then re-install it once again. Might be that initially iTunes were not installed properly. Also there is a possibility that the GEAR drivers are missing or not being installed. So you can try to install GEAR drivers. This worked for me on my Windows Vista. |

This was the same issue that I faced when I intsalled Itunes on my new Sony Vaio laptop. Even I tried the process of un-installing and then again re-installing Itunes but it did not worked for me at all. But with the assistance from my computer technician I fixed this problem. Here is what I did. Open your My computer and search GEARAspiWDM.inf file in your C Drive. Once it is located then just right click with your mouse and select install. As with other applications you would have to restart your laptop for the settings to be applied. This will make your Itunes functional without the error. |

| Re: Unable to find settings for itunes registry problem
First and for most check whether you have installed iTunes. Also the GEAR driver needs to be installed. If this is done then click on the Start button on the bottom left corner of desktop and click on Run. Now type regedit. Now locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. In that find SYSTEM and it that locate CurrentControlSet > Control > Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}. Once you reach here right click to make the selection a New- Multi-String Value. Name this value as UpperFilters. Right click on it and select Modify. Now type GEARAspiWDM for Value Data by pressing the Enter key to go to the next line and press OK. Reboot your computer. If the issu is not solved then by the same way make a LowerFilters and let it be blank. |
