Can't play CoD2 MP on windows 7!!!

Hello, I just bought an HP pc with Nvidia GeForce 9100 video card. The OS is windows 7. I have 6gb of ram. an AMD Athlon II 620 quad core processor. Whenever I try to download call of duty 2 to my HP it says, "Library not found". So I right clicked on the MP version, clicked on the open button, then clicked "Setup". It installed after that. Now when I try to run the MP version I get an error message saying "cod2mp_s.exe has stopped. Single player works fine. I downloaded the 1.3 patch and still nothing. Some help would be greatly appreciated!

Its better to erase the configs.

And if this will not then try to reinstall the whole thing again.

Have you install the latest Graphic Driver Package?
If you yet not install the latest Graphic Driver package for Windows 7 then install it first and then try again to enjoy the CoD2.

I am not getting solution for the problem your are facing right now.

But i know this happens because of the Punkbuster.

Punkbuster is not supporting the beta operating system. That is why you are unable to play CoD2 MP online in Windows 7.

I got it to work, apparently windows 7 is weird and won't let me run the game unless I have a mic plugged in?

Like I said in the previous post, i have to have a mic plugged in to launch the game once its started and gone to the main screen I can unplug it

It seems to be a problem of your sound driver. Do you have realtek audio device which detects what is plugged on the front panel? This driver has some software problem which pops up whenever it feels like. Try to download and update the drivers...
