Enable capital with the Shift key in Vista

Hi,
I am looking for some customization options of Windows Vista. I my computer when I press Shift key and type anything the uppercase of letter does not work. Is there a way by which I can enable capital of letters by pressing shift key. I had found this in most of the keyboard. In the same manner I want to set the refresh rate of the screen. And at the end I need some suggestion regarding improving the display speed of Start Menu. I had tons of software's and this makes the start menu to slow to load up. Ho can I increase the speed of the same. Thanks in advance.

To change the refresh rate of a monitor first open the display properties (either right click on the desktop, then Properties, either through the Control Panel, Display). In the Settings tab, click the "Advanced" button. A window with different tabs, depending on your graphics card, offering various options. Select the tab "Screen". You can then choose the refresh rate of your monitor.

Go to Regional and Language Options. Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options, then click on the Languages tab, then click the Details button. In the installed services, you can add a keyboard: choose a keyboard and the language initials like EN for English and a U.S. keyboard (U.S.). Apply the change: the shift key activation capitalization is then activated. Now delete the U.S. keyboard: the option is enabled.

To improve the start menu speed you will have to edit Windows Registry file. Click on Start > Run > type regedit. Then go to the tree HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop. Double-click the string "MenuShowDelay" and give a new value depending on the speed you want: 5 (fast) to 400 (slow). Also if you want to hide a drive in the Explorer you can follow this solution. Click Start > Run, then type regedit. Expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer and create the DWORD key named NoDrives without quotes. Then, the key value depends on the drive you want to hide. Like for A- 1, C - 4, B - 2, D - 8, G - 64, E - 16, F - 32, and H - 128 . Addition on values to delete multiple records, then restart the PC.
