This is not serious problem as you think that . It may happened due some setting is change related to sound. You can make set your setting as per your choice so that you can get your your pc sound back. try following process Click on Start buttton>then open the Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices properties sheet. On the "Audio" tab,you can see "sound playback" ,under Sound Playback click on the 'down arrow' and check to be sure the proper audio device is selected. Changing the selection back to the correct device will fix the problem with no reboot necessary in Windows XP. After done this setting if still you don,t get sound then check whether your speaker is properly connected or not. |

| Re: No Sound playback after XP install
hi dude' This some time time cause due to missing or corrupted sound drivers .So to over come this problem you need to replace old sound drivers with new one.I suggest you some procedure to overcome these problem.try it . remove all sound video and game controllers that present in device manager and reboot the system.when you again reboot the system windows automatically reinstall all missing drivers and usually correct the drivers if it is corrupted. If above procedure does not work download and install latest sound card drivers of your sound card manufacture. After doing all these thing still you getting the same problem then your sound card may become unusable.I suggest you to contact your sound card manufacture for testing of card and request for replacement . If it is find damage buy new one. |

Hi, Before going to higher steps ,I suggest you to first check simple things like whether you correctly connect your speaker to your computer, whether you muted the volume ,whether you correctly plug speaker wire jack into proper place, whether your speaker are working or not. after checking above thing if you don't get sound it means that it is problem regarding drivers. You can check the drivers yourselves, right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties" , in the properties dialogue select the "Hardware" tab and click on the "Device Manager" button. If you see any yellow circles with an exclamation mark in them next to any items in the Device Manager list you, quite probably, have missing drivers. If you are provided motherboard cd with your computer then run and install all drivers require for your motherboard. If you don't have motherboard or you lost it then check the motherboard manufacture and check their website for drivers and download it and install it. |
