    What is Windows PowerShell

    Hi,
I have upgraded to Windows Vista recently. I was just discovering some new features in it. And I need the information on the same. Like for what purpose and how to use them. What is a WinFS in Vista. In the same way what is Windows PowerShell. It looks some kind of programming language. Also what is ReadyDrive Windows, SuperFetch and Avalon. If you know some extra added features in Windows Vista then post the information of the same. Thanks in advance.

WinFS is a new file system using metadata that is based on NTFS. It allows you to assign additional information to any type of file. PowerShell is a scripting language and an interactive shell providing a way to handle command-oriented tasks. The features of the same is that it is both interactive and composable as KSH or BASH and it is also programmable as PERL or Ruby. PowerShell is consistent with previous scripting language. Generally, MSH performs all controls and existing scripts. MSH does not interpret the file. Bat or. Cmd, he headed to execute cmd.exe. Changing environment variables in a script. Cmd to affect the execution of other scripts is not supported in MSH and the only conflict at this level. PowerShell facilitate administrative tasks such as managing the settings of the printer system components, networks, IE, the user account creation and related operations.

ReadyDrive is Microsoft technology that will use hybrid hard drives. These are disks which has a large amount of non-volatile memory cache which can be stored programs and data to quickly reload them to surrender power. A sort of hibernation very optimized. There is also one more options called Windows Readyboost. This technology allows to use a device such as flash memory (USB stick). In this memory are stored to the most commonly used to access them more quickly.

Windows SuperFetch is a new feature of Windows Vista that loads the programs most commonly used, making them load faster. It can also access external storage devices (such as a USB drive) for use as additional memory cache. Avalon is a new rendering engine based on XML rather XAML. This will allow developers to set the display of their application in an XML file that will be more easily modified.
