    schtasks not working

    Hi All,

I created scheduled task using schtasks in Vista. I gave /ru and /rp while creating task. But "Last Result" displays 0x1 error. Please guide me where do I have to change to rectify this error.

    Thanks,
    Manik.

    Check Service settings :
    • Open Control Panel, > Administrative Tools > Click Computer Management > Expand Services and Applications > Services.
    • Right-click Task Scheduler service > Properties.
    • The startup type must be automatic
    • The service status must be Started
    • Goto Log On tab, select local system account
    • Click OK and quit everything
    • Reboot the computer and check....

Schtasks.exe is used for scheduled tasks from the command line, but the fact that it's running on shutdown is a bit strange. Click start, type services.msc and hit <enter>. Scroll down the list to this service and click on it. The left column dialog should indicate if it is running or needs to be restarted.

Did you verify the task scheduler service is set to automatic not disabled? Is the Task Scheduler service running? Did you turn off or disable any services?
