Import photos automatically in InDesign

Hi

That's the problem:
- A document of 90 pages
- Twenty pictures per page
- A caption for each photo (number)
- The number is the name of the photo
- Pictures are cropped upstream

Suppose I create the images and blocks that I set up manually legends of the pictures. Is there a way to request ID automatically import the pictures corresponding to the legends?

Thank you in advance for your answers

Re: Import photos automatically in InDesign

ImageCatalog simply import all images from a folder in a document, adding a text block with the name of the imported file ...In my case a folder containing over 1400 images to be imported at a rate of twenty per page. The images illustrate and bear the same name as the products on the page. The difficulty is that products do not appear in ascending order. I'm going to create images with blocks blocks captions on each page, just as does Image Catalog, except that it was I who would return each legend ...

You do not want to use Image Catalog because you want to control exactly which page is such a product, right? Regarding the Excel file, that is to say, the data merge in InDesign, you'll end up with the same problem with Image Catalog. I think it's the fusion of data that enables you to get what you want. The painful thing is that you'll have to organize the Excel file so that the fields are imported in the order in which you want to appear the products in your InDesign pages.

try this plugin Badia PageFrame for InDesign 2.0 . Badia PageFrame allows you to print a frame around the page or spread. Use PageFrame when printing proofs or presentations on oversized paper, so you can easily see the page boundaries. PageFrame allows you to specify the width, color and style of the frame before printing.
