The existence of dedicated sound cards this still make no sense. Today, all motherboards are equipped with audio chipsets that meet more or less all the functions which the general user needs: they produce a sound almost decent (especially often in line with the quality of the speakers used) , supports multichannel sound and, provided we invest a little in a motherboard upscale allow encoding in Dolby Digital or DTS. The arrival of Vista and the end of the audio hardware acceleration is still a crop areas in which certain sound cards could still make the difference between the chipsets. I am looking for more information on it. Is it worth buying a costly audio system or the sound quality depends on the software.
