How to set print area in Microsoft Excel

    Hi,
I had created a list in Microsoft Excel. In this file I had imported a contact file provided by mail. The files was in .csv format. Now all the data is imported but the problem is that the data is not arranged properly. It has some ten columns which consist of Date, Name, Tel no, address, etc. And the rows goes more than 1000. The problem is that all the data is jumbled up and down. When I give the print command only few contacts comes on the page and the rest is empty. By this it is showing a huge number of pages to print. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks.

The first thing you can try is sort the data. Excel can sort by various criteria, in alphabetical or numeric order. Thus we can find information easily. Select the cell range you want to sort. It is important to remember if you have selected or not the field titles. We choose the Sort command on the Data menu. Dialog box appears where you can choose the sort column from which will show you multiple options.

Filtering data in a list provides a subset of the data and work with them. In applying filters show only the rows that contain a value while hiding the other rows. select the field titles. Select AutoFilter on the Data menu | Filters.
Is an arrow (dropdown menu) to the right of the header of each field to select one or more fields in the condition you want. Before selecting an automatic filter make sure that there is no longer activated, you can check mark beside the option Data | AutoFilte.

To print in Excel must first define the print area. Select the cell range you want to print. With the cells selected and open the File menu and click Print Area, you will get two options select Set Print Area. When ordering the program to print out print the print area is defined. To clear the print area select File > Print Area and select Clear Print Area. Under Page Setup, you can select everything about the site, its orientation, how is embedded Excel Chart in the page, the page size on which to print. "Orientation: portrait or landscape paper when printing. Scaling: Allows the option to increase or decrease the size of the worksheet on the page, as more or less than 100.
